Children are free to explore, engage, and experience a multitude of learning opportunities throughout the day. Opportunities that foster a child's Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, and Emotional development. Children are free to explore independently or alongside their friends and an emphasis is placed on social-emotional well-being and autonomy.

 

WHAT OUR DAY LOOKS LIKE...


Below is a flexible timeline of the Centre’s daily schedule:

 

7am

Centre Opens/children start to arrive

8:30-9:30am

Open Morning Snack (Parent/guardian provides)

Children decide if they are hungry and want to eat.

7am – 12 noon

Open Explorations:

-Children choose where and what they want to explore.

-At which time 3 tables will have specific explorations on them.

-Experiences consist of opportunities and materials that support physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

9:30am – 10am

Circle Time. Children choose if they would like to join the circle or remain in their explorations. Circle time will be available at this time every day regardless of the number of children involved.

10:00 – 11:30am

Outdoor Explorations:

Outdoor explorations at Lions Park Area.

-Gross Motor opportunities will be available.

11:45am – 12:30

Lunch

Everyone will sit and have lunch. Children will still be encouraged to choose for themselves what they want to eat for lunch.

12:30 - 2:30pm

Quiet time

-Children that are tired will sleep on their mats

-Other children that choose not to sleep will select quiet explorations.

-Staff will encourage children to rest, however if the child doesn’t appear tired, will redirect the child to a quiet exploration.

2:30pm – 3:30pm

Open Afternoon Snack (Centre provides)

Children decide if they are hungry and want to eat.

3pm – 4:30pm

Outdoor Explorations/Circle Time

Outdoor explorations at Lions Park Area or Circle Time

-Gross Motor opportunities will be available.

4pm – 6pm

Open Explorations:

-Children choose where and what they want to explore.

-At which time 3 tables will have specific explorations on them.

-Experiences consist of opportunities and materials that support physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

6pm

Centre Closes
